Liability for loss, delay or damage is limited to a maximum
of $9.07 per pound ($20 per kilo) for checked baggage, and $400
per ticketed passenger for unchecked baggage.

Bicycles
are normally be accepted as checked luggage.
A musical instrument may be accepted as carry-on luggage, as
long as it conforms to the size and weight limits of such luggage.
Otherwise, it will need to be placed in a seat, in accordance
with the following conditions:
An extra seat must be reserved for the same fare and in the
same passenger class as that of the passenger, without the right
to another luggage allowance.
The maximum weight permitted is 75 kg/165 lbs.
Golf Equipment (bag plus clubs and shoes)
If the equipment exceeds the stipulated luggage allowance, the
excess-luggage fee to be applied will be 50% of the value of
the excess-luggage fee normally charged on the route.
Ski Equipment (snow or water)
Ski equipment will be considered one unit of the following articles:
1 pair of snow skis accompanied by accessories (1 pair of boots,
1 pair of ski poles, or 1 snow board) or 1 pair of water skis,
either conventional or slalom. The excess-luggage fee to be
applied if the equipment exceeds any luggage-allowance limit
will be 33% of the value of the excess-luggage fee normally
charged on the route.
Please note that the fee described above is applicable to the
transportation of 1 piece of equipment pnly. If each piece of
equipment exceeds teh prescribed baggage allowance limits, the
excess-luggage fee to be applied will be the full excess-luggage
fee normally charged on the route.
Surfing and Wind Surfing Equipment
Wind Surfing Equipment: Cannot be included in the passenger's
luggage allowance.
Surfing Equipment: Surfboard with a maximum length of 274 cm/108
in; cannot be included in the passenger's luggage allowance.
In each case, an excess-luggage fee of US$75.00 will be charged,
and the correct packing of these items will be the total responsibility
of the passenger. |

Please
report delayed baggage to a WestJet Customer Service Agent within
one hour of arriving for domestic flights, and 24 hrs for international
flights.
Most delayed baggage arrives within 24 hours but if you have
reached your destination, and your baggage has not been recovered
within 24 hours, you will be authorized to spend up to $25 a
day for 3 days to help cover the cost of incidental expenses
while WestJet continues to search.
In rare cases where the bag is not recovered within 30 days,
the Baggage Recovery Team will settle your claim up to WestJet's
maximum liability of $250, excluding interim expenses of up
to $75 (for flights within Canada) and up to 1,000 Special Drawing
Rights, including incidental expenses, for international flights.
If the value of your bag contents exceeds WestJet's liability,
you may wish to consider purchasing baggage insurance through

Scuba Gear
One set of scuba gear is accepted at no additional charge per
guest. One set consists of an empty scuba tank, a regulator,
a tank harness, a mask, a pair of fins and a snorkel.
Cylinders containing compressed air or a special gas mixture
are prohibited
WestJet only accepts empty/emptied cylinders (pressure gauge
must read zero).
Tank valve must be open.
Diving lamps must be disconnected, with the terminals taped
over to prevent accidental functioning during transport.
Up to 30 kg (66 lbs) of Scuba Gear. Anything over this weight
will be charged the excess fee of $5.00/kg
Golf Clubs
Golf bags need to be sturdy enough to provide adequate protection
to the contents.
Must have an attached hood to protect club heads
Golf clubs, balls and shoes are to be packed in a suitable golf
bag
Golf clubs packed in golf bags not offering sufficient protection
to the contents and golf bags which don't have an attached hood
will require a Limited Liability Release Form to be completed
